So bizarre

A random vanity Google image search yeilded a hotlink (tsk tsk) to this picture:

Smiley eggs

It's a post to some sort of Russian game that seems to start with this image.
Here's a translated version.

So random. I originally blogged about the eggs here. I had a pretty cool husband. :>

iPhone: Will it blend?

Ahahahaha! There are a million of these here. :)

Let's dance.

Twelve Tone Masters!... with a guest appearance from Igor Stravinsky!

I actually can't listen to this without laughing so hard I cry.

This one turned out better...

Morning fun

But was PCP involved, here?

Hey! Maybe I'll see a UFO when I fly out of O'Hare later today! What a psychedelic beginning to 2007 that would be.

Further Pearl adventures

First off, this is awesome: 0tv.com - Mary Worth Series. (Cheers to Phil for this.)

Secondly, there is apparently a HUGE LAG in when my dad takes phone photos and when they get to me. I suspect it may have something to do with the fact that his phone is on maximum resolution but I don't know. Either way, grrr phone company!

I think there's another picture on the way, but it seems that Pearl is still having fun with my parents. This is what I received this morning (which I should've received last night):

Pearl thinks she is the star

He heee! :)

Brrr!

There's a lake near my parents' house, and they try to walk it nearly every morning. Apparently, they decided to take along their unlikely (read: left behind) current houseguest when they went yesterday....

Oh my. At least she stayed warm. ;)

Oh by the way, did I mention that my parents crack me up? Because they do.

Pearl Adventures

So. When I travel, I usually bring Pearl, my little stuffed octopus. I am aware of how silly it is for a 28 (nearly 29!) year old woman to be traveling with a stuffed octopus so let's just not go there.

When we were in the car on the way to the airport yesterday, Dad asked about Pearl and we realized... we'd left her behind! Oh no! Pearl likes to hide in my parents' house in places where my mom will eventually see her and erupt into giggles. She usually hides in places like the refrigerator or the blender, or peeking out from behind pictures. Or in plants.

Well, this time, she'd hidden and Mom hadn't found her!

So we get to the airport, all distraught, and while we were eating lunch, I get a text message with this picture in it:

Pearl says hi.

Whew!

When we got home, I got another text message:

Pearl borrowed the car and went out to eat.

By this time we realized my phone wasn't getting messages in good time. Apparently, my Dad had been waiting by his phone for a return text for quite some time by the time I talked to him. The last message came in the middle of the night.

She is drunk

She's partying without us in Chicago!!!

I love my parents.

Various Bits

Photos of our leaving party have surfaced on flickr. Some are fantastic, some just amusing. Check them out for yourself:

We're moved out - last night we stayed at a hotel. This morning I'm back at the flat waiting for the Homechoice person to come pick up the cable box and also the cleaners to come and clean the place. We get checked out at 12:30. Our car comes at 1:00. It was amusing checking into the hotel with four bulging suitcases and two carryons... for one night. I'm sure they thought we were nuts.

There was broadband in the hotel room, but via Ethernet. Because we are packed for six weeks in a corporate apartment, and we are two people with two laptops that both need the net, we have our AirPort in our plane luggage. So we set the AirPort up in the hotel room and shared the net that way. It amused me to no end. Bring your own WiFi! Is there no end to our nerdiness?

I think the Diet Coke machine at McDonald's is hooked up to regular Coke. BLECH.
