I found it.

The building is The Vanguard Chelsea.

It's on 24th and 6th: like two blocks from my office.

It's an alcove studio: 10B.

My leasing manager at the Solaire, Carlos, sent me over there - where his sister is leasing manager.

So there's no broker fee to pay.

It's a block away from Whole Foods.

I walked in, and I felt, for the first time since I've started to look for a place, relieved.

I felt like I'd found home.

Then I called my dad and burst into tears.

And now Gary is mocking me. :)
(But we both know he'll use my couch as crash space after a night out in Chelsea at least once.)

(Also, work said it loved me. Yay.)

Yay!!!

And what fun playing with furniture layouts!

Woo!

I may actually be visiting you in your new apartment sometime next year, with my new job where I earn actual grown up money enabling me to do things like travel.

YESSSSSSSSSS! I'm so excited for you! It's going to be terrific! Also, work would be stupid if they did not appreciate your awesomeness.

Work is not stupid. Work appreciates your awesomeness. Work would like to take a moment to thank you for meeting and exceeding your quota of awesome for this fiscal quarter.

Work would like to show Work's appreciation of you so conspicuously that other developers in your circle of friends who know how to Deliver the Awesome come to understand that Work knows how to treat a developer _right_.

Work will stop now, because Work doesn't want to seem stalker-y. Plus, this joke stopped being funny back in the second paragraph of this comment. Congratulations on the apartment!

Dear Work,
Thanks. You rule. Now I live two blocks away from you. Talk about stalking.

Also: WOOD!

That's great news Beth! Congratulations!

Thank you! So very very pleased! What a horrible experience trying to find a place in this city is!

It's seriously lovely!

Seriously, I don't know how NY/NJ folk do it. I would live there in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the insane rent/mortgage situation.

Your apartment is a little smaller than my family room. :) (but twice the size of my last bachelor pad...you could see it from the Chicago C-bridge Ofc!)

Congrats!

I've missed most of a decade of context, but procrastination and google brought me to your page, so I hope you don't mind me sticking my head in. If you want or need a hand moving in or whatnot, let me know- I'm in NYC.
