Recent life and upcoming awesomeness

Last night, we pushed my project into staging. Staging is between development and production and we have until next Friday to get everything just so. We go live on September 24... which really means on September 23 (a Sunday), we start just before midnight. There will be a conference call with about 20-30 people on it, from all over. Slowly, we will get things ready for deployment, push stuff live, test the shit out of it, and finally rest easy. Our part depends on another part going live first. So I reckon I won't get off the call until around 2:30AM. If something goes wrong, it'll take much longer.

We have finished development, and are now just waiting for more bugs to be logged so we can fix those. Right now, my plate is clear. I have no meetings today. For now, sailing is smooth.

And life continues to be busy. I've been trying to keep track of everything on my calendar (at 30boxes.com) and glancing over it, well, it's really full.

Fun things coming up include seeing Ian McKellan in King Lear this Sunday. My cousin Emily mailed me yesterday and said she had an extra ticket and would I like to go? The answer, of course, was a resounding yes, even if it does mean I'll miss the Bears game. I cannot wait. Also, I'm also going to a Gandhi Jayanti celebration at the Indian consulate on the 5th, which should be an amazing cultural experience.

And then there's another John Vanderslice conecert coming up at the Bowery Ballroom that Tony and I are going to.

The one thing coming up that I'm mixed about is finding a new apartment. It's got to happen, and it's going to kick ass when I have a place of my own, but looking for it is bound to be stressful and annoying. The hunt begins Monday. My lease expires on October 31 so I'm looking to move sometime in the middle of next month.

Wish me luck. :>

You don't need an apartment. You should become a hobo. Travelling across the country in search of the american dream. And also solving crimes. Like a less homoerotic version of Renegade.
