I have eight boxes of stuff for donation.
1 big box of clothes
1 big box of stuffed animals
3 boxes of games
3 boxes of books
The Salvation army does not pick up anything but clothes. Goodwill does not pick up anything. I am SO FRUSTRATED. I don't want to throw this stuff out, but I also don't want to spend $40 on two taxi journeys to get it all to Chelsea to the Goodwill store. And I don't have a car, of course. What sane person would have a car in Manhattan??
EUGH. My mood is ruined.
How soon do you need this to get moved?
I'm hoping to get down to NYC in the next couple of days. If I drive, I imagine we can cram some if not all of that stuff into my car and drive it down to Chelsea.
(My car's old and messy, so it's not like boxes of stuff for donation will be a problem, or even really noticeable... :) )
Let me know if I can help.
Or go onto craigslist - there's a category for "free stuff". Betcha someone would come take it. I once saw a posting for someone giving away free bread at his house, left over from a party...
Please please please please please! If you're in NY soon email me!!!

Dude. Try Amvets? Or ask your building's concierge. They might have an idea.
