Tomorrow we move. Quick, huh? It took five business days for our stuff to get through customs. We got the call on Monday. They deliver tomorrow. This morning I realized that I didn't have a shower curtain. This sounds stupid, but tomorrow I'll be tied to the new apartment all day and on Friday morning James will need to shower. Thus: shower curtain. And iron. And towels. And toilet paper.
I've started my job search. If you're interested (or know someone who might be), my resume is here. I've been surprised at the sums of money being offered to people of my level, but pleasantly so. I don't feel like our apartment will make us destitute anymore. However, I also have the luxury of being picky.
Take the call I just got, for instance. Permanent position, prestigious consulting firm, 100% travel. Out on Monday, back on Friday. Now, that would probably be great in terms of really building my resume up. But do I want to travel all week? Not really. It was cool and fun when I was 22. I feel like I'm too old for that, now. Plus, we just got a great apartment... traveling all week would mean that I never saw it. That said, 25 paid holiday days a year... Tempting.
I've cancelled all of my utilities now, though. Just in time to set them up in the new place tomorrow.
OH SHIT! Phones. That's what I need. Phones.
