I think the only thing that can be said about my recent blogging activity is that it's been spectacularly crap. I haven't done much of anything, have I? In over a month! Jesus.
What's been going on in that time? Oh, not much, I guess. Probably the best explanation for my absence is business. I've been roleplaying a lot recently, letting my inner geek out and all that. I've been talking to friends a lot. I've been trying to enjoy the amazing weather (which has sort of come and gone and come again).
I've been terrible at keeping up with my own blog, and terrible at keeping up with everyone else's, too. So if there are important things happening in your lives, it's likely that I'm still clueless. Think: communication dry period.
A couple things of note have happened, though.
I've caught spring fever. This has manifested not in spring cleaning (which I wish it would because the house is a mess), but instead in finding creative ways to get online from a park. I thought, If I can do work from a park and MUSH from a park, I will have a wonderful summer. And thus began the search.
I have a new 12" PowerBook, which I adore and is very portable. It doesn't have a PCMCIA port, so I can't get the new 3G PC cards that they're selling, which would let me get online from anywhere. So I called Orange, and did a bit of research, and found that I could talk to my phone with bluetooth, and then the phone could talk to the GPRS and connect me to the internet and it would all be ducky from there.
Of course, there's this new 3G stuff, which gives you much faster data transfer. And it would be wonderful to have fast internet from wherever, wouldn't it? Well, I looked into it a little further and decided to upgrade my phone to a zippy little Sony-Ericsson Z1010. It works seamlessly with this set up. I'm currently writing this from the beer garden of The Eagle, the pub just up my street - my local.
So there's that. And, really, it is pretty awesome. I plan on spending my summer in Hyde Park, or maybe just Finsbury Circus, amid the green, lolling about. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Hopefully.
The other thing of note that's happened recently is Venice. I went on the 30th and returned on the 1st, giving me a whopping two and a half days in the fabulous city. I sat out and drank prosecco, dined in fabulous places, went to the Guggenheim, and basically drank up the sun and the good weather and people watched. There are pictures. I will try to upload them tonight. And will post a bit more about it, then.
So there you are. The summary version of the last month.
Not very interesting, is it?
